Snow chains are a type of chain installed on the wheels so that the vehicle can still have grip without slipping when driving on snow or icy roads. Snow chains are installed on the driving wheels of the vehicle and must be installed on both left and right sides. Since installation of snow chains may increase fuel consumption and the vehicle speed cannot exceed 40 kilometres per hour. They are intended for vehicles that do not frequently drive on snowy or icy roads. In places where it often snows, vehicles are often replaced with snow tires to drive on snow or icy roads.
